Yoga Niketan Method ™ * is a style of yoga developed in Japan based on teachings from the Himalayas. The main practices focus around Asana, Pranayama, and Meditation.
Asana is a Sanskrit term meaning posture or pose and is a used to strengthen your body and prepare for meditation. It is used to bring us to a unified state between mind, body, and spirit. With the Yoga Niketan Method we use Asana to increase flexibility, improve core strength and balance, and bring you to a state of mindfulness.
Pranayama is for managing your energy. Pranayama is a breath work that brings you to conscious awareness of the breath. Breath work in the Yoga Niketan Method provides an expansion of life force which energizes and relaxes the body.
Meditation is for discovering what you truly are. The Yoga Niketan Method for meditation helps you enter into and experience yourself as one with all existence. It is through this kind of meditation and oneness that we are able to achieve the yogic goal of moksha or liberation.
